SAP R/3 Basis, UNIX - Other, Windows NT, Oracle, Windows XP

This 3-6 month contract opportunity is in Greensboro, NC. The primary responsibilities of the Oracle Database / SAP Basis Administrator are to ensure the integrity of the databases in the computing systems environment and manage the infrastructure portion of our SAP installation. Additionally, support of other database and data warehousing technologies will be required.

The following is a summary of the major job processes of this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time:
• Installation, configuration and management of Oracle 10g and 11g databases on Unix.
• System Administration of the Unix environment.
• Management of Oracle 10g databases on Microsoft Windows.
• First- and second-level technical support of all database issues.
• Configuration and management of database backups, including RMAN, TDP, etc.
• Installation, configuration and expansion/upgrade of storage area networks (SANs).
• Support of the SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application database and infrastructure.
• Support of the TeamCenter Project Lifecycle Management (PLM) application database.
• Performance of other duties as assigned.

Communication is critical to the success of this position. It will require interaction with a diverse, multinational population over the telephone and e-mail. It will be supporting all aspects of databases, data warehouses and SAP infrastructure and will interact with both internal and external resources.
