Job Listing / Admin module-382219
February 25th, 2008 by Matt
I am a web designer and in some ways a project manager when I outsource programmatic components …
I have the need of a PHP developer that can program a module that will work alongside a web design I would like to do for a company that specializes in recruitment.
The PHP will need to interface with MySQL on a shared web server (these web servers have control panels where databases can be created and phpmyadmin runs for configuration purposes. As a result the code shouldnt do anything that wouldnt be permitted in a typical shared website environment, and changes to the configuration of the default webserver are unlikely. The host is hostgator.com under an account sold via their reseller account. (Their website has details as to what they allow, and there is a live-chat option if you need to discuss it further).
I have included an attached word document that outlines the objectives far more clearly. At this point, I would like a cost effective quotation that I would be able to “resell” onto the client as part of the total website. The job requirements do not include design, just the programming of a job listings module and its management aspects.
Modular Design Brief
The project will require the use of PHP and will interface with mysql.
PHP 4 or 5 may be used, but version specific coding should be avoided.
Summarized Details…
- The main page that the person browsing the site sees
- The administrative page, secured by .htaccess username and password in a /folder that the administrators of the website will use to administrate the websites job listings.
- (Optional) – A component which will be placed on the home page that lists a summarized version of either the latest job postings, or most popularly viewed postings in the style of a “recent postings” element from Wordpress. Specific Details…
- The main “job listing” page break breakdown
(to be one folder level below the root of the site /folder1)The Job Listing
This will display a list of available jobs (‘sort by’ to be decided at a later stage).
This list could extend to more than one page (number of entries to a page will be defined in the general settings of the super admin area)
This listing should be presented in a stacked table where each cell contains a header (untrimmed in length, hyperlinked to full details page), an included salary indication in brackets after the header (as part of the hyperlink) and a small description below.
