17 Year old DOS/QBasic program needs to be re-written to run on windows XP platform. source code present.

User is Cardboard box manufacturer and program is used to estimate materials/dimensions required based on user input and type of die casting machine to be used. Existing formulas can be extracted from the source code

Would like to add additional functionality to new version.

Need to be able to save and retrieve records.

Significant work was done to rewrite this using MS Access but programmer could not complete the work due to personal reasons (75-80% complete).

His work is available and documented and he is available for consult. We prefer to leverage his work and complete the program or start over if that seems like the right decisions
